Happy New Year You all!::::Sorry Wayne and Bill, maybe that 5 year contract still had stars in Ted's eyes, but not the Stars over Texas. Dave I guess when you get up off the floor on that last minute, should I say last second TD, that it really happened. Bill I guess two rejections in one year, the dog and Cal's loss, is best to be forgotten and start a new year on the right foot. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!::::Jim G::

Well, the DL and I are back after our extended stay in Europe. It was pouring down rain (in buckets) when we got to London on my 65th birthday, the 17th) but the next day was fairly nice, cloudy but not raining. We went through Westminster Abbey finally. The next day we went to Paris, it was cold an rainy. When we left home, it was cold and rainy, but by now it was in the single digits back home and a monster snow had fallen. Then we went to Lucerne in Switzerland- It was really cold, but not rainy, On to Florence, Italy, it was cold, but no rain. Got to Rome, cold and rainy. Went to see that Vatican City, Saw St Peter's Cathedral and the Cistene Chapel and it's ceiling, and a few drinks of local red wine. On Christmas day, we flew from Rome to Athens, it was cold in Rome, cool in Athens. Very few people at the Airport in either place. The DL was po'd. She was looking through the pamphlet on the tour, said there were only two tour related transfers from the airport to the hotel. 10:30 am and 8:00pm. Actually we were met at the airport and driven to the hotel in a nice new Mercedes Cab. The DL was happy, our sons were in the room next to ours. We went all over Greece, it seemed in the few days that followed. Hey, Ellie, my wife found a Star of David in one of the floor tiles centered under the dome of one of the Orthodox Greek Chapels in one of the nunneries we went to, they said David was one of their icons, too. That particular nunnery was up on one of the hills near the monastery featured in one of 007 movies a few years back. We left Athens at 3:00 am on 1/2/05 to make it back here in time for the DL to go back and torture her students again, Boy am I tired from being on airplanes that long. I think I'll go to bed. It was 57 degrees above 0 in Cincinnati, but it was still raining.

WELCOME HOME BILLY, YOU ARE THE CLASS WORLD TRAVELER. IS THERE ANY PART OF THE WORLD THAT YOU HAVE NOT SEEN? CLASSMATES, PRAY FOR NYLON. HE HAS A HEART CONDITION THAT IS CAUSING HIM PROBLEMS. HE AND TJ STOPPED BY TODAY TO SAY HELLO. DAVID AND ROSEMARY, YOU ARE SO GENEROUS. IT MAY BE THE CLASS SITE, BUT YOU HAVE MADE IT POSSIBLE. IT HAS DONE MORE TO KEEP THE CLASS TOGETHER THAN ANY OTHER THING THAT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE. I AM THANKFUL FOR IT AND FOR YOUR TALENT TO KEEP IT OPERATING AND MANAGED FOR ALL OF THIS TIME. GOD'S BLESSINGS TO ALL. LOVE BRAD

Corcoran Elementary School / The class of '56 started in Mrs. Gorden's Kindergarten class. / Crayons, nap blankets, paste, and scissors were ours at last / We had teachers named Boling, Newlove, Korsmoe, Gale and Spafford. / And never forget Filer, Huff, Ratkins, and Ford. / Remember the recesses, we never missed a start bell. / The monkey bars, they were so high, we always fell. / The swing was over 40 feet tall. / But now it is very small. / Remember the Halloweens, track events, games and drum and bugle corp. / The volleyball, football and baseball. The dancing, what a bore. / The summers were best with bible classes, and just playing. / With hikes to the reservoir, plus bicycles, camping and swimming. / The seven years of walking to and from the school grounds. / The fights with friends or foes plus the fogs, dogs, goatheads and ant mounds. / The alleys of Corcoran were the best. / With horses, cows and chickens on nests. / June of '50 the boys dressed in blue pants and white shirts. / The girls in with white blouses and blue skirts. / They had worked their way through Elementary school from South to North. / Graduation and across the alley, to start all over again for what it was worth. / We had completed our steady northern moves toward big high school / There was anticipation, laughter, sadness and maybe a little blue. / But first there is another summer to run around. / To look and smell and listen to the sound.

Thanks David and RO for poetically recalling what was our most innocent years but maybe our most formative. Billy C I sit here in Palm Desert watching it rain for days now and read your message . I have been to all of those places but in the sunshine with warm days and nights. Dave , please send me a personal note and tell me again how to access the members emails. Thanks. Prayers are sent for Nylon. Luv you all WC

Hey, WC, I've been there in nicer weather also. We did have some sunshine in Swiss land, but we were above the clouds in the Alps. and was it cold up there. It was cold here too. We had 22 inches of snow the weekend before Christmas. It shut down Brookville for three days. Nylon, hang in there buddy, our prayers are with you.

On 12/23, I received an email from Sharon Hollis. Sharon Hollis is the daughter of Nat and Shirley Toney Marshall. She gave me her mothers address and phone number. I had mentioned this email before, but it was part of the "Guess Who" notes that I dumbly deleted. Dumbly Is that a word? Before I could add Shirley's information to the site my computer had a major problem. I found the problem and it was me. Anyway, the computer man said, with a smirk on his face, as he stuck a hundred bucks in his pocket, "Don't do that again". What were we talking about? Oh Yes, I finally recovered Sharon's email and added Shirley's name and address to our list yesterday. Also yesterday, our daughter and son-in-law sailed for the Florida Keys to warm-up; then on to Bermuda.

Jan 8, 2005 at 00:52:49 wcrow (palm desert)
Hello good friends, I called Nylon to ask how he was and he assured me that the problem was not major but was related to the previous surgery he had a few years ago. With meds adjusted he said he was in ok shape. TJ said he needed to follow his doctors' advice better. I don't know about Bill Rose. I emailed him last week but have gotten no answer. I am soooo tired of this weather with the rain everyday. I don't like being housebound. When the storms stop and the roads clear we may head up to Truckee and ski for 2 weeks. I know my home up there is buried in snow. There is probably at least 7' around the house. Enough gripping from me. byby

Jan 8, 2005 at 09:48:02 Ellie (Fla.)
David, that piece on the past was lovely. I didn't know you were a poet, much less a writer of verse.::Wayne, Truckee made the national weather map. Wow! shades of the Yukon. Sargeant Preston and his Royal Mounted Police.::Nylon, take your pills!!::The week my daughter was here there were 4 hours of sun. This week is 80 everyday.::David, I have problem with computer. Cin set it up for me that I could burn cds so easily. The minute she leaves I'm in trouble. This message keeps coming up."Errors reported by output device." What the heck is this?::Billy, do you and DL have a permanent pass? It's truly incredible, the places you've traveled. ::Gotta get busy, company coming. Love this lifeline.

Jan 8, 2005 at 12:26:05 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Ellie, without more information, this message, "Errors reported by output device", means data isn't being provided to the CD recorder continuously or fast enough.

Jan 8, 2005 at 19:05:10 Jacque Polzin Thomson (SLO)
Well the creeks are rising and we've got the boats tied to the house incase we need an ark. At noon we'd had another 3 inches of rain since 6AM. One other year we got storms like this & the golf course at Avila was completely flooded. I've got pictures of the trees and the hole flags sticking out of the water and people kayaking on the course. Tonight is the highest tide of the year so it should be interesting at Avila.::I sent a note to Bill & Sonia and it reminded me that several months ago I suggested that we all stop a noon and think about Bill for 1 minute. ( Think, pray, meditate, send good thoughts, but do it for Bill) Now maybe we should resolve to do it again but for all our Classmates who are having difficulties of any kind and of course for Bill. It sure wouldn't hurt. You'll never know what kind of power all those combined thoughts might have, let's try it! Well my computer power pack just came on so I have 15 minutes to get this thing shut down......my power is out! I'm going to love cooking on the wood stove! bye for now.::

Hello everyone,::::Wayne this is just a thought . . . If you really get feeling cabin fever, maybe you could call and volunteer your time to your old work place. That should make you come back to reality. Ellie, get a new computer operator/technician and make sure he is rich for your high maintenance costs! Jacque, hope I don't hear anything about our place in Pismo like we did a year ago! We did see on the news a woman being rescued from the flooding river in San Luis Obispo. Sonia hope everything is going better with Bill, let us know. Betty . . . the next time your computer is on the blink call me and I will give you all my sympathy if that will help it get fixed. David I have an idea for extra income but the travel time might eat up the profits fixing all your classmate's computers. Nat, at least your Wesley will play dominoes with me . . . your next.::::JimG::::::

GOOD MORNING CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS, WHAT BEAUTIFUL WEATHER WE ARE HAVING. EVERYTHING IS SO FRESH AFTER A RAIN. I LOVE IT WHEN THE BAROMETRIC PRESSURE IS LOW AND YOU CAN SEE FOR MILES. THE MOUNTAINS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE JUST DOWN THE STREET. LIFE IS GOOD, GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. IF ANYONE IS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO READ, I WOULD RECOMMEND THE BOOK OF JOHN IN THE BIBLE. GOD,S LOVE IS SO WONDERFULLY SHOWN BY OUR JEWISH BROTHER. I AM WISHING THE VERY BEST FOR ALL OF YOU. REMEMBER TO PRAY AT NOON EACH DAY (THANKS JACQUE FOR THE REMINDER). WE ALL NEED IT. LOVE BRAD

Hi Ellie, When the DL and I went through Passport control, the officer asked me if I liked to travel a lot. I told him, "Yeah, but check hers out!" I had two or three bland pages in the back of my passport, the Dl only had one blank page. She has to get a new passport before we cam go anywhere else. Jacque, we don't have as bad weather as you guys, but It's pretty bad here too. Saturday it was 20 here, 38 yesterday, 46 today, 56 tomorrow, 69 Thursday, 20 again on Friday, and colder on Saturday. The Ohio river is 5 feet above flood stage, before dropping later tomorrow morning when it starts raining again, before changing to snow on Friday. Some are expecting a snow as bad as the few days before Xmas. It's nice riding on the wx elevator. While I was in Switzerland, I came down with my first cough since my heart surgery in May 2001, It lasted until I left Greece. I came back yesterday, fortunately it is only a cough, no chest congestion though. We'll see about the weather as it comes by and accept it, I guess.

Hello to everyone, I have had to change my email address. I've been getting the wrong kind of mail. I had the old address blocked. I've sent David my new address, incase you want to send me an email. What a pain this is I have to send out messages to everyone in my address book.....individually!

Jan 15, 2005 at 11:32:08 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Jim, the California border hasn't been closed; has it? Now's your chance to get away. I've added the pictures from Frank Gomez and Shirley Dunehew to the Pismo pages. Great pictures. Thank You Shirley and Frank. A letter has been written about the Pismo Beach reunion and mailed to everyone without e-mail. Sometime very soon, I'll send the letter to those that have e-mail. I did forget to include in the letter the highpoint of our trip. Visiting the urinal at the Madonna Inn. Thanks to Brad, I was able to visit this astonishing masterpiece of construction. Keep in Touch Dave

Pismo Beach Get Together !!!::The Pismo reunion was another good one. To start it off, a special thanks to Jacqueline and husband John. They opened their home for an early bird Halloween party. John tended bar and Jacque kept the food coming. It was a lot of fun with much laughter, talking and eating.::We especially want to thank Sid and Betty Grant for hosting this event and picking the location. The next morning, thanks to Betty, the hospitality room at the Spyglass Inn was opened early. They kept it stocked with snacks and drinks. Plus they cleaned up each night. Nat set up his trailer mounted Bar-B-Q pit in the park down the street. The park is on a high bluff over looking the ocean. The sun was bright and sky very blue, perfect for a picnic in the park. The meal was delicious. We should take lessons from Nat. After the meal, it was back to the hospitality room for some::intellectual discussion.::The next day was free and people went shopping, played golf or just sat and talked. Two missing classmate, Frank Gomez and Transito Solis, just showed up at the Inn unexpected. They were quickly made to feel welcome.::That evening we had a very good sit-down dinner. Of all the reunions, this was by far the one of the best meal.::The last day we made a bus trip to Morro Bay for lunch at the Coffee Pot Restaurant. After lunch, Chi Fa Lu, the owner closed the restaurant just for us to talk about growing up an orphan in China. If you get a chance, read “Double Luck”.::Classmates attending the reunion were: Frank & Jane Avitia, Wayne & Pat Crow, Barbara (Mitchell) & Bob Dunehew, Bob & Shirley (Alexander) Dunehew, Tommy & Shirley (Gibson) Denehew, Joan (Terry) Florence, David & Rosemary (Oldham) Gilbert, Bev & Brad Gilton, Frank Gomez, Jim & Arlene::Gonsalves, Sid &

Hi Good Friends, We just returned from Minnesota where we attended 2 wakes and 2 Catholic funerals for members of Pat's family. One was expected and one was not. God sure made it hard on the families when it got to minus 20. The sun was out, the sky was blue, and it was so cold it was hard to breathe. WE are now facing the loss of a dear friend of 25 years in the Bay area which will be very hard for Pat as they call themselves sisters. Now I read from Sonia the news about Bill, a friend of 62 years and I have to sit down and think about this state of being called life. I will do the noontime prayers and send good thoughts to all of you as we are all in harms way. luv2all::

I CHANGED THE TIME AND DATE AND PRESENTED THE IDEA TO MY FAMILY AT A GILTON FAMILY REUNION IN 2102. ANYONE MAY USE IT AS YOUR OWN FOR YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS. CLICK ON MEMBERS, CLICK ON THE CONSTRUCTION SIGN AFTER MY NAME, SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM, CLICK ON "VISIT MY SITE", SCROLL DOWN TO THE LINK "2056 REUNION". WE HAVE AN EXCITING JOURNEY AHEAD. FAR GREATER THAN WE CAN IMAGINE. THAT'S WHY I AM ENCOURAGEING EVERYONE TO BE READY. IT'S NOT AUTOMATIC, WE HAVE TO DECIDE TO GO. JUST THINKING ABOUT IT MAKES ME WANT TO GO TODAY. Remember when "Guess Who" added some pictures in the guest book. I wrote a little note that detailed what I knew about them and said they had "FunWebProducts" in their computer, what ever that is. Being curious, I researched it and found an article by Mark Gibbs Network World Web Applications Newsletter dated 12/10/03. I don't think you want FunWebProducts in your computer. A lot of site visitors have it. Anyway, click on FunWebProducts on the guest book page.

To all of my dear brother's classmates:::I am in Columbia MO to be with Bill and Sonia in this most difficult of times. We do not know how many more days Bill has, but he is resting comfortably and is receiving the best of care.::He eats very little and is so weak. My husband, John, is a great help in moving Bill from bed to a recliner where Bill prefers to spend the day. Bill talks very little and sleeps most of the time. ::We are prepared as best as can be expected for what is to come.::We love him and will miss him dearly.::We appreciate your prayers.::Sincerely, Florence Rose Odom, Class of "55".

HELLO CLASSMATES, I TALKED WITH SONIA THIS MORNING. SHE SAID BILL IS VERY WEAK AND IS EATING VERY LITTLE. THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT SHE SAID SHE HAS NO DOUBT THAT BILL IS READY FOR THE GREAT JOURNEY. IT IS SAD, BUT, WE HAVE THAT HOPE AND WE WILL SEE HIM AGAIN. OUR REUNION 2056 IS LOOKING BETTER ALL THE TIME. THE SPIRIT WORLD IS JUST A DIMENSION AWAY. I KNOW THAT GOD IS GIVING COMFORT TO BILL AND SONIA RIGHT NOW. GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME. LOVE YOUR BROTHER, BRAD

To Bill. I have so many memory of you that I couldn't begin to cover them all in a year. I remember the last time when you and Sonia stopped by on your way to south Texas. I remember the 30th reunion in Visalia when you introduced me to Sonia. I tried to tell you that I met her in::San Francisco during the 20th reunion. It finally dawned on me she wasn't the same wife. I was embarrassed; you were laughing. I remember in Tokyo going with you in a staff car to the American embassy to deliver something. We::had a security guard and you had whatever in briefcase hand cuffed to your wrist. I remember the times you came to our home Tokyo. I remember going in his Ford convertible to see the state track finals at the LA Coliseum in '55. Watching Wayne and Jerry do their thing. I remember the donkey that you could ride anytime he::wanted you to and anywhere except across the Orange Ave. bridge. You could ride him across the railroad truss, but that was scary. The 12 years of school have all run together in my mine. The 1st grade was a long long time ago. Its been a long road, Buddy, a long old road. See you. Dave ........ Bill has been given his last rites by his priest, is sleeping::quietly and will soon be with God.

Brad, don't worry about it. You manage to put into words, at this most appropriate time, what some of us are unable to say. I,too, remember Billy; a very sweet fellow.::I've stayed tuned in from the beginning thanks to our group. Just think of the many people who have been holding his hand through this with Sonia. That's a lot of support and careing.::We'll be here for you,as well, when in need.

Thanks David for the alert, I agree everyone should read Billy Rose's obituary. I wish everyone would read it and then get busy with their own bio. for the class pages. It's very sad to read about someone when they are gone. Bill had a wonderful, full life and accomplished so many things. I wished I had taken the opportunity to call him and find some of these things out in a conversation instead of reading about his life when he can't answer my questions. It does sound like Bill had loads of fun and didn't waste time thinking about doing something, he just did it! Except for a few emails I missed the opportunity to get reaquainted. Don't be surprised if you all get an occasional phone call from me. I don't want this to happen again.::Billy C., where are you hiding? Are you shoveling snow or just reading a good book?::Wayne how's it going? No skiing adventures to report?::David and Rosemary, no new project started. How about the Mardi Gras? I know Baton Rouge has a good one, what's going on with you two? I'm wearing my beads til the 9th of February!!!::Julia, what's up, are you back from your Christmas travels?::Ellie, I miss your quick wit! I owe you a note, it's coming!!::Jim G did Brad ask you about printing for the 50th? Don't do it if it means you would have to work instead of be there.::What happened to my 4th grade boyfriend? (how come I had boyfriends in grammer school and not HS?) Doesn't he ever leave a message. Now that he's lost 40# maybe he sunning on a nuddie beach!!!!! Can't be still drowning his sorrows because the Bears didn't make it to the Rose Bowl,or maybe that why Wayne hasn't check in also. I'll catch the rest of you the next time I check in, I'm off to Fresno, my daughter's having more tests and my Mom's 93rd birthday is Thursday.

We just got back home after spending some time in Palm Springs and then on to Vegas for a few days. Sid was able to work in a few golf games and 80 was perfect weather. ::So sorry to read the news about Bill.::Sid & I remember him so well as though as it was yeaterday. I served him his very favorite meal at Nielsens drivein many times. At the time it was roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy. He did not want the meat and gravy on top of the bread. He always complained about that until we finally got it right. Many times he did not have the money to pay so we let him sign the ticket and he always came back the next day to pay. He was always happy. ::Sid remembers going out to his house in the wee hrs of the morning to feed animals. He remembers Bill did not always show up. All the games they played together.::Sounds like he has had a wonderful life here and it will only get better.::Sonia our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. What a great life. We will miss him even though we did not see him or hear from him often.::::Sid & Betty

I was just sitting here day dreaming and RO ask, "Where would I like to go for lunch". This is an older persons version of "What do you want for lunch". The first thing that came to mind was, "I'd like to go to Superior Dairy in Hanford and get a strawberry milkshake"! Oh well dream on. Jacque, if the road to Fresno is getting old, take a side trip to Hanford and have a strawberry milkshake for me.

Feb 3, 2005 at 19:11:44 Barbara G (Ventura)
Dave: I introduced my daughter to Superior Dairy in Hanford about two years ago. Now, we always stop there when we're in the valley. I also work with a gal from Hanford, so we often dream of taking a day trip to pick up some ice cream. It seems that you never forget the good things from your youth. Maybe one day of our 50th reunion could be spent "remembering".

Feb 5, 2005 at 08:49:41 JimG (Tulare)
Just sitting here at the computer at about 5:30 a.m. reading your comments about Superior Dairy . . . Maybe at the next reunion the class should have lunch there like we did at The Coffee Pot. You know Superior Dairy is just about the same in appearance and quality ice cream as it was in the 50's. Can you imagine what could have happened if there were such words as Franchises back then. Every time I go to Hanford I stop in to get a gallon of hand packed chocolate, or strawberry or . . . Dave wake up your still dreaming!::By the way a double decker cone costs more than 10 cents now.::::JimG::::

Feb 5, 2005 at 16:31:29 Dave (Baton Rouge, LA.)
*More than 10˘ for a ice cream cone!! I guess I'd have to get a FHA loan to swing a strawberry milkshake. Wow, I bet gasoline cost more than a buck 75 in California. Rosemary worked for a CPA almost next door to the Superior Dairy. When the boss was out of town...party time. The next reunion, I'm going. You hear Brad and Jacque. Brad it could be sinful, but ...to bad.*::*Jacque, we don't do Mardi Gras, people get stupid at Mardi Gras. They made a big deal about what happened in SLO. The same thing goes on here at every little town. New Orleans.. you couldn't pay me to go there during Mardi Gras. Bad enough during a normal day.*

Feb 6, 2005 at 16:05:13 Jacque (Locked down SLO)
David Mardi Gras is trying to happen here....but with an additional 400 police, Highway Patrol and various undercover agencies involved.....the only one's who are partying hardy are the Policing agencies, they are having BBQ's under a big top on the Cal Poly campus. They have the CP campus shut down, you have to show ID to get in, the police are standing shoulder to shoulder all night along the streets where the students had their riot last year, Downtown looks ghost-like Saturday night according to the newspaper and as usual even after all the warnings by the local police dept. to all high schools and colleges in almost all of Calif., they had a few idots arrested. There is a website, by a poly student promoting a Poly Gras next weekend. But they still held the Mardi Gras Ball at the Madonna Inn Satuday night.::I wore my beads Wednesday night and stopped at a store to pick up some supplies for the meeting I was going to, the clerk told me I would be smart to take my beads off until I got to my destination! ::What I can't understand is that at least 7 students last year got convicted of felony charges related to the riots....doesn't that really ruin their ability to get good jobs once they leave college?::Now back to Superior Daries.....they had a place on Higuera street in SLO that imported the ice cream for about 5 years but it just wasn't the same. Even MR. Arden Farms (my dad) use to take his family there anytime we were in Hanford. We celebrated my Mom's 93rd BD Sat., I'm back to Fresno on Wed, going to own the gas refinery soon. I have to put the high octane stuff in my car and it's $2.35 and going up! All gas is over $2 per gallon along the coast, there isn't that much difference in the Valley.

Feb 6, 2005 at 16:36:52 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Jacque, I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. Today's headlines in the Time-Picayune. (yes, that's the name of the New Orleans paper) "The final weekend of Carnival got off to a bloody start as eight people, six in New Orleans and two in Jefferson Parish, were killed within a 24-hour span that began Friday evening, officials said."

Feb 7, 2005 at 13:55:10 BillyC (In/OH)
I guess I was lucky when I got to go to Mardi Gras in 1963. I was stationed in San Angelo, Tx, and a friend was from Slidell, LA. I think we were still celebrating both George and Abe's birthdays, and a carload of the guys took off at midnight on the Thursday before. I drove the car all the way there - 14 hours. The guys told me I had a great time while there. They had a great time waiting for me to get out of the jail house, after getting thrown out of the Playboy Club. That's about all I remember of the trip, but I believe the guys. That was when Mardi Gras was still fun. When I was stationed near New Orleans ten years later, it had already changed to a much rougher crowd. I am glad I was there once before it got wild. I really liked that area, even not during Mardi Gras time.

Hey Billy C welcome back, where have you been hiding? Did the DL give you a long list of "Honey Do's"?

Feb 8, 2005 at 09:26:46 BRAD (VISALIA)
GOOD MORNING CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS. SONIA, I HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL. I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT BILL. THIS MORNING, IN THE OBITUARIES, I SAW AN UNUSUAL POEM WRITTEN BY AN ART TEACHER. HE STARTED: CAN YOU BELIEVE "I" AM ON THIS PAGE? THAN HE WENT ON TO DESCRIBE WHAT HEAVEN IS LIKE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS GOING TO BE LIKE, I JUST KNOW IT IS THE GREATEST ADVENTURE EVER. IT'S WHAT WE ARE (ETERNITY) PREPARING FOR. THERE ARE TWO CHOISES. LIFE IS GOOD, GOD IS GOOD. I WANT TO KNOW HIM BETTER. IT'S GOOD TO SEE ALL THE CHATTER. LOVE YOU ALL. BRAD

Hi Good Friends, WE have been busy just keeping up with life situations which seem to come at a faster pace than we can sometimes cope with. Deaths among family and old friends, sickness arriving at doors unexpectedly, a daughter who still needs our help. WE have been away dealing with these as best we can. I feel like I have been in bad weather since October. It is going to rain again here and that is great for the desert but bad for golf. I guess I will trade golf for great flowers in the spring when we hike more. It is good to read all of the messages which tell me that all of you are doing well. I will try to keep on line more often. luv2all

Feb 12, 2005 at 06:49:16 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Hi Jacque, The java thing is a drop down index for the most of the site. The index is written in java. On Rosemary's 995Mhz computer the index appears without seeing the jave spinning star. My computer will show the star for about 3 sec before the index appears. If you click on it while you can read java, it will take you to another site. It doesn't work on some Netscape browsers! Go to the home page and wait it out, but don't click on it. If the index doesn't show in 45 sec. Quit and let me know.

We are finally having good weather in our area but it is suppose to start raining tomorrow for a week. We are going down south this weekend for baseball games, hoping for good weather.::Hope everyone is doing well and planning for the 50th. We want no excuses.::::Betty g::

GOOD MORNING CLASSMATES. HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN VISALIA. A LITTLT RAIN, A LITTLE SUN, ALL THE THINGS WE NEED. DID ANY OF YOU SEE THE PROGRAM ON TV THE OTHER NIGHT ABOUT THE MYSTERIOUS BLACK HOLES IN SPACE? I HAVE BEEN FASCINATED BY THEM. IT DEMONSTRATES HOW BIG OUR UNIVERSE IS. ONE IS 1.2 BILLION TIMES THE MASS OF THE SUN, 700 LIGHT YEARS AWAY, MULTI-MILLION DEGREE TEMPERATURES. IT'S AMAZING. I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE IT ALL. TO ME, THOSE NUMBERS APPROACH INFINITY. THEY ARE BUILDING A BIGGER TELESCOPE THAT WILL BE FINISHED IN 2006. I WONDER WHAT THEY WILL DISCOVER NEXT. OUR GOD CREATED IT ALL. HOW AWESOME AND WONDERFUL IS OUR GOD. BLESSINGS TO ALL. LOVE BRAD

Feb 19, 2005 at 11:49:03 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Jim, You need a some java in your computer. The quick way is to dump the cup into the computer, but that could be expensive. Go to http://java.com/en/ and down load it for free.

BillyC's older brother, Jack is building a Corcoran High School site for the classes of 1952 through 1955. He made a mistake of emailing me a page that is in the works... So I stuck it on our site. The link is on the Guest Book page. Just reading the names brings back lots of memories. If you know any addresses, you can let Billy or me know and we can get in touch with Jack or give you his email address. I know Jack sent questionnaires to many of you.

DEAR CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS, YESTERDAY IN OUR CHURCH BULLETIN, THE WORDS FROM THE PROPHET ISAIAH FOUND IN 40:28. "DO YOU NOT KNOW? HAVE YOU NOT HEARD? THE LORD IS THE EVERLASTING GOD, THE CREATOR OF THE ENDS OF THE EARTH." IT JUST TIED IN WITH WHAT I HAD JUST WROTE. I THOUGHT IT WAS SPECIAL. I FEEL SO GOOD, GOD IS SO GOOD. LOVE TO ALL, BRAD

Good morning to all the old class from Virginia.::::Must comment on the Valentines card. It was so different and lightened up the rather bland colors of the typed materials. It was a work of art!::::Sure looks like the S. Cal members should be wearing hard hats and waterwings... I can't remember that there was that much rain in S.Cal. or in Cal since 1950-52. ::::Stay Dry!::::::::

Feb 22, 2005 at 12:45:17 Ellie (Fl.)
Jacque, are you there? You want some galoshes? My father used to be big in golashes. How's the homestead there? looks awful on T.V. Here it's much drier. How dry is it, well, everything is parched like normal Fl. winter. But the weather is gorgeous. 80's, breeze, beautiful sky. Gulf is warming up. The door is open.

Feb 23, 2005 at 17:48:49 BillyC (In/Oh)
Wow, last summer It was Ellie we were praying for, now it's you guys on the West Coast. It only cost me $840.00 when my pipes froze while I was in Europe last December when it snowed 22 inches and the weather went down to the single digits. I don't mind a little rain, but when it rains a years worth in a couple of hours, that's not good. Tornadoes? I thought those were for the midwest and southeast. It's getting really wierd out there, isn't it. We were up to the 60's last week, tonight down to near Teens aging, with snow. I love Indiana/Ohio in the Winter/Spring. Stay dry all you guys in CA. BillyC

Feb 24, 2005 at 01:35:53 Jacque (High & Dry today in SLO)
The Sun was out, the temp was in the upper 60's, infact the hills warmed up so much that it caused sever thunderstorms & a 3/4" hail storms in Cambria, Cayucos, Atascadero and Santa Margarita, but the sun kept shining in San Luis Obispo. Our newspaper informed us that we have had more rain here for the year than Portland Or. and Seattle Washington! This morning John emptied the rain gauge for yesterday, 3", about an average day for the past week. The flowerbed from the drive to the front door is a small pond with stepping stones. I need to prune the roses but I would sink maybe to my eyeballs ( per my neighbors boy)in the flowerbed. My grass is so wet it feels like walking on a very wet sponge. It's easy to get cabin fever because it has rained for so many days. Last week they had a surfing contest in Morro Bay, during the rain, north of Morro Rock, talk about exciting waves!!! We have a favorite place to go for a cup of coffee if it's a big storm. Just north of San Simeon and the light house, just past the cafe the road turns inward and so does the beach. On a nice day at high tide the waves go across the road, So when it storms at high tide it is great wave watching out their big window! We sit and wait for tourists to drive past and through the waves, I know sick but fun! When the storm comes out of Alaska and rounds point Conception just south of us that's when S. California gets hit hard. It is something about the atmosphere and the pressure fronts meeting with a big bang. Fortunately most of their storms only come up from Mexico and head east right away. Not this year! We don't have the high range of hills/nountains so close to the shoreline like from Santa Barbara to Ventura. And we don't build large houses hanging over the cliff except on the hill above Pismo and our building dept requires more pilings and foundation reinforcements, than LA freeway bridges and piers. One reason it costs so much to build here. Believe it or not we keep ticking out the small earthquakes, rain or shine! I still don't feel them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to drive to Fresno in the middle of one of these storms....so far I've made it between storms. We are scheduled for at least 2 more multi day rain storms, per the weatherman. The biggest news is that these weather patterns usually repeat themselves in 2 year batches with tapering off for approximately 12 to 15 years inbetween!::So Ellie, thanks I don't need the boots, but just in case John has the big boat tied off to the house, for emergency departure! It's packed with supplies at all times. All we have to do is cut the tiedowns, release the cable, start the engines and go with the flow!

Feb 24, 2005 at 21:04:48 Jacque (San Luis Obispo)
Hey Henry Spencer!!!! Welcome to the Guest Book!!! I was so busy writing about the rain (I AM getting old!) that I forgot to mention how nice it was to see you entering into the conversation!!!!!! Unfortunately, everytime I write something no one replys for days. I am going to have to write something more often because Bob loves to paw the panther while I'm typing. I'm off to Fresno before the next rain storm, my Mom is hanging on but is getting weaker. She is about 5ft. now and keeps shrinking. Henry keep adding your comments. Ellie I sure miss you. David it's nice to know John & I aren't the only parents fetching for their kids. Billy C. I looked at your brother Jacks list of classes..is everyone there?

Jacque:::::Thought you had gone on a long trip. Hadn't seen anything from you in such a long time.::Just got a hold of Ellie the other day and plan to see her next week when Marilyn and I are in her vicinity. ::Ho ho the weather! boy I really don't want to trade places with you now even if we are getting 3-4" of white stuff now.:: ::I look at the weather map and see all the rain down on Dave and Rosemary's area of the country and can't imagine what they go thru. ::::Hold on- more on the way!!!!::::

Feb 24, 2005 at 22:33:28 Dave (Baton Rouge)
I need some input about the java index thing on the homepage. I know RO, Patty and myself can see it. I know Jim and Jacque can't. It slows my computer down, but doesn't effect RO's. Tell me what to do. Leave it or dump it. It has been dry here this year. We have only had about 7 inches through yesterday. Today was only a couple of inches. But, that would only be 9 inches for the year. We should have had 12 inches by now. I might have to see if I can find a yard sprinkler. Good to see you are going to Florida Hank. Nice this time of year. Don't forget the sunglasses and to ask Ellie for her secret fudge recipe. We haven't been down since the sitting out a hurricane at our sons in Tampa. Jacque, Seems like your house is on a hill over looking SLO. I guess it would be Lake SLO if John has to untie the boat.

Feb 25, 2005 at 13:05:39 Henry S (Nokesville,Va)
Dave: I can see the cup and it's working great, but the e-mail segment is a no go on my computer. I like the index system you've put in it excepting for the email item. I have to go back to the guest book to be able to use the comment capability. ::::I'm for what works for the rest of the crew.::::HS

Hey Dave, Your java works on my computer, too, I don't have to go to Internet Explorer now to add comments. Thats how I got to "add comments" today. Hi, Jacque, glad your still dry, mostly. Hi, Henry, there is always room for more commentors here. Welcome aboard. An Alberta Clipper is headed this way. Thats a mini "Blue Norther" from Texas. It's a lot drier though.

What's a Java? do you mean that gray rectangle in left hand corner on the quill and notebook page? Well, It works for mewhatever it is. ::Henry, Do not look a gift horse in the mouth. See you soon. And do you know that all these years I've always thought that the song was Bringing in the Sheets. Nothing sacreligious here. Please don't be offended Brad, Now I know better. Oy!

Hi good friends. Dave, the java whatever works for me on aol. I did not try the email yet. Well here is my weather report. Sun has arrived here in the desert and with it the flowers are starting to show off. We hiked yesterday in the Indian Canyons behind Palm Springs and the color was great and the waterfalls were just amazing. WE may have some more rain later in the week but for now it is just fine. Henry, it is so good to hear from you after so long. You must plan to come to our class party in 06!! Pat and I are going to Peru in April for 2 weeks. If I get good pictures I will see if I can post one or two. I have joined the valley camera club and hope to get some instruction about digital photography. It is so good to read the voices of Jacque, Ellie, Dave, Jim, Billie, Brad, Patti, Betty, and all. When I read, I can hear the voice of each . Brings back good memories. luv2uall

Jim, The trains layouts are all in the past. They were in two 600 0r 700 sq ft rooms in RO's flea market. There were 5 different boards Christmas, Pre-1940, Swamp, Circus and New Orleans. Each board had two to three different theme areas. It took three years to build it with lots of help and three days for the two of us to tear it down. We could control the lighting so it looked like the sun was going down and the house lights would slowly come on here and there. It was a blast. The trains were all "O" gauge about 1/4 in = 1 ft. The layout you asked about had 7 layers of figure 8's on a slope that had one track 10 inches above the one below. Seems like there were 6 loops..or..60 inches high. At the top and bottom it bridged over to the opposite direction. There were two transformers. One set to take the train up and the other to bring it down. I went to Florida once and had set the transformers and told the guy who was going to operate the layout to just turn on the switch, it will take care of itself. Well he had some problem with the engine. Took it off the track and when he put it back had it going the wrong way. Anyway, it came downhill under full throttle like it was shot from a cannon, went airborne and landed in pieces 10 ft from the layout. Everyone was worried about what I was going to do. Until they realized I was disappointed because I didn't see it happen. Want to make a few million bucks? Stage a train wreck.

Well, Here it is March, and the Lion is roaring. It is going down to Brrrr territory here in the Midwest tonight, not as bad as the East Coast, we're only getting the edges of the storm that hitting them. It's still windy out, and feels a lot colder that it really is. The DL has decided to retire at the end of this school year. Everyone has told her that it was time to stop and leave the little kids alone, and go travelling a lot. She will travel a lot, I'm sure, and she wants to drag me along. too. Which means I'll be a lot busier trying to to spend all me money, if I can. We will be getting rid of the Motel sometime along the way, so I should have no problem get out there in 2006. Our last pre-retirement trip will be during her Spring break later this month, Central Europe is on her mind this time, starting in Munich, going to all sorts of wierd places we've never been before, execpt for Vienna. It should be fun. She tried to get our youngest to go with us again, but he's to smart to go again so soon after Greece. He's currently between jobs, and having a ball, at least when the weather clears up in Connecticut.

David, so far there has been no word from Hank Spencer. He did call last week to say that he and his wife would be ringing me on Monday past. But no Ding Aling. Jim the gift horse made no reference to you. So ignore it. Just jabber.::::I love little trains. Had a Lionel set up when I was little. My father got it for me and he loved it. We set up a h.o ? set for Peder. Years ago mi amigos. As for the weather, it's great moderate, sea in the70's and sunshine and it's lovely.::::You all know about the canker problem on the citrus trees in Fl. Well, if you live within 1900 feet of an infected tree, the whole neighborhood's citrus trees have to be cut down by law. So they just finished cutting down my neighbors trees in the back and this is just heartbreaking. They had the biggest bestest grapefruit you ever did see. I'm next. They're going to cut my one and only Mineola orange tree tomorrow and I don't have the dreaded disease but my tree has to go anyway. Boo Hoo! I'm in mourning........ but never fear an orange tree will rise again, not in that same spot so they tell me, so I'll pick another place and it will be fed and nurtured and it will grow nice and tall and bear wonderful juicy fruit for all. That's how I see it.

Dave, I'm enjoying looking at the photos of your trains. My dad and grandfather bought my brother one for Christmas when he was about 5. I think he finally got to play with it in July the next year. I really enjoyed seeing the carousel, as I have a small collection. I'm beginning to run out of space.::::I'm still looking for old school photos. If I find any, I will send them to you, Dave. I'm still looking forward to our next reunion in 2006. Hard to believe that we've been out of school 49 years.::::My "baby" sister retired in November at 55 (civil service, of course). I may do that one of these years, who knows!!::::Keep entering those comments....I enjoy them all. Look at the site almost every day (especially at work). My e-mail at work is Barbara.Weaver@ventura.org in case you want to add it to the list.::::Here's wishing all of you a Happy St. Paddy's Day.

GOOD MORNING ALL. ELLIE, I WAS A LITTLE VAGUE. I THOUGHT FROM WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT SEEING THE SPENCERS AT REUNION '06 THAT HENRY HAD GIVEN YOU THE IDEA THEY WOULD BE THERE. I AM HOPEFUL THAT THEY WILL AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS. I AM BELIEVING WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT TIME AND A GOOD TURN-OUT. DAVE, IS IT TOO EARLY TO START A SIGN-UP LIST? YOU CAN COUNT ME IN. A GOOD DAY WISH TO ALL OF YOU. LOVE BRAD

Mar 8, 2005 at 18:27:27 Dave (BR, LA)
Hey Brad, We have a page for the '06 reunion. We need to know when and where. Then we will start. We started on the Reno reunion about 18 months prior. I put the Panther Tails back on the site. Will start triming back on the pictures from Pismo shortly. We are running a little over 100 MB on the site. Henry, I hope you soaked up some sunshine. Everyone Keep In Touch. Thanks for the message Carolyn, Hope for the best. She was always favorite of ours.

Hi Friends, this may seem weird to some of you but I do need to know soon the date of our 50th in Visalia. Now I know that most of use don't buy green bananas or super size cereals but Pat and I are getting some interesting requests for possible home exchanges for 06. These do have to be planned well ahead. How about it Brad and Jacque? What are we looking at? We have a committment for Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for April 06. We have never been to that part of the country so we are happy with that one.We finalized a two week exchange in Paris in Oct 05 which will tie into the end of our river cruise from Vienna to Amsterdamm. Sounds like we are on the move this year? Yes , this is our 25th year of marriage and we are celebrating it by lots of travel outside the USA. Next year it is stay home and see the USA so we may be coming soon to your backyard. I know, I know, you will leave the porchlight on. luv2all

WE ARE WAITING FOR THE SCHOOL TO SCHEDULE THE '06 FOOTBALL SEASON SO THAT WE CAN PICK A WEEKEND THAT HAS A HOME GAME. PREFFERABLE THE HOMECOMMING GAME WEEKEND. THAT IS WHY THE DELAY. THAT BEING SAID, I WILL CONFER WITH JACQUE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND SEE IF WE CAN GET THE INFO WE NEED. HOPEFULLY, WE'LL HAVE SOMETHING TO REPORT IN A SHORT TIME. LIFE IS GOOD! GOD IS GOOD! We're back to the upper Mid Atlantic area again and it's certainly not as pleasant as N.Fort Myers. The temp. had dropped to 47 F before we got out of Fla. and were tempted to turn around for the warmer climes. It was a great event for me to see Ellie again after 50+ years and look forward to seeing her and all the rest of you soon.::Ellie- we found the ring in the washer- don't bother looking further. Dave- the sun was a little scarce but did get 2 days at the beach and a little sun burn on the arms. The Gulf was rather placid and quite pleasant. Hope the rest of the ugly weather for all is mostly gone and spring with the wild flowers is on the way. ::Sounds like the Crow family has itchy feet this year. The only way to lose the itch is to move them-right? The weather in the South East is good until about the end of April or end of May. ::Well, gotta go for now. ::Cheers.::HS::::::

Thoughts for Brad and Jacque.. The football schedule will probably not be set until early in 06. High schools do not schedule far in advance like colleges do. What about looking at the past weekends for homecoming and maybe the Principal can give some reasonable advice when it might be. Will it be in Oct? When has it been been usually set? When is it scheduled for 05? Do they have the 05 football schedule set yet? If not that will tell you about the 06 timeline. Personally, I am not certain that homecoming is a big thing anymore but I haven't been around football games in the valley for a long time. I do know the sooner a date is set for our class reunion the more people we will get to attend. Good luck luv2all

Mar 14, 2005 at 18:26:22 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Henry, we were in Indiana last week. It snowed and had 14 degree temp. Got home and it was 75 with blossoms everywhere. Did a Google search for San Joaquin Valley high school schedules. Didn't find anything for '05, but noticed the Panthers are in the East Sequoia League and were 0-10 and scored 127 points to 350 in 2004!!! Hope we don't have to pay admission to see them play. We may not know the '06 schedule this time next year. You could pick any weekend in September or October and hope for a home game. Do we know a where in Visalia the reunion will be held? We can start the page with that information. Lets get it on.

Mar 14, 2005 at 21:15:41 BRAD (VISALIA)
HELLO AGAIN. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH JACQUE. WE ARE GOING TO GET OUR HEADS TOGETHER ON FRIDAY AND HOPEFULLY HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION TO MAKE A DECISION. AT LEAST, WE'LL HAVE SOME ANSWERS. I'LL LET YOU KNOW THE RESULTS OF THAT MEETING. STAY TUNED. BRAD

Mar 14, 2005 at 22:43:50 JimG (Tulare)
Brad, Jacque::::You know who always goes to the Corcoran games is Bruce Flarety and Lew Florence. I can get a hold of Lew and he will talk to Bruce also or maybe you can call Bruce. It should be around October. Dave it is not the score that counts its the spirit! The last coach that said that is not coaching anymore, hah!::::JimG::::::

What I want to know is did anyone bid on the spoon on ebay? Did anyone find out who has the spoon!::::JimG::::

0 and 10!!!! Holy Cow, we could suit up and do better! (slap-slap)wake up Wayne, you are dreaming again

Mar 15, 2005 at 01:25:25 BRAD (VISALIA)
WELL, I DID NOT THINK TO ASK LEW, BUT, I CALLED J.R.WILLIAMS, THE FORMER A.D. AT CORCORAN. HE IS GOING TO TALK TO THE PEOPLE THERE TO SEE IF HE CAN FIND OUT ANYTHING. IF I DON'T HEAR BY FRIDAY, I'LL CALL THE SCHOOL AND GO THROUGH CHANNELS TO TALK TO THE AD. IF THEY HAVE NO PLANS, I'LL ASK HIM TO SCHEDULE A HOME GAME ON THE WEEKEND WE CHOOSE. IT CAN'T HURT TO ASK. BRAD

Mar 15, 2005 at 11:49:42 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Hi Jim, The "spoon" was sold by someone in Kansas to some unknown person for $10.49. I only borrowed the pictures.

Hi Guys,::Sure wish that KANSAS PERSON had been ME on that Corcoran Spoon. Love, Patty

Mar 18, 2005 at 17:29:23 Henry S (Nokesville,Va)
Hey Guys-- Does anyone know if the old McDonald/Rich Agency (insurance) still exists in Corcoran? I've got an old artifact from them and was wondering if they still exist.::The weather is just as one would expect for Spring time.. Lots of winter with a day or two of Spring thrown in as a tease. Hope you're all well and grumpy for a change.::HS

Mar 18, 2005 at 22:31:14 wcrow (palm desert)
Henry, I am just an outsider after all these years but I think the locals will say that the agency still does business and it is run by Jim Rich. Am I right classmates? More rain coming here in the desert. Enough already!! I was just reaching a higher level of proficiency at golf and now I have to start over again. MY muscles have very poor memory and less coordination than ever. I wish I had kept my old "drop can " I could take up marbles again. Henry, I thought maybe you had an old claim to file against McDonald Rich from the accident. I still remember that day . I bet you do too!! Hi to all the good folks online. luv2all

Mar 19, 2005 at 09:46:52 BRAD (VISALIA)
GOOD MORNING CLASSMATES. AS PROMISED, JACQUE AND I TALKED YESTERDAY. WE AGREED ON 3 POSSIBLE DATES AS FOLLOWS: SEPT. 28-30, OCT. 5-7, AND OCT 12-14. ALL OF THOSE IN 1006. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY FEEDBACK FROM J.R. AS YET. BUT, WHEN I DO, I AM GOING TO TALK TO THE AD IN PERSON AND ASK IF HE WILL TRY TO MAKE A HOME GAME AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH FLEXABILITY THEY HAVE, BUT IT WON'T HURT TO ASK. I BOUGHT A NEW PAIR OF 501'S LAST WEEK AND WASHED THEM BEFORE I THOUGHT OF WEARING THEM (WITH THE CUFF TURNED UNDER, OF COURSE)UNTIL THE REUNION WITHOUT WASHING THEM. I DON'T KNOW WHO WAS THE CHAMPION, BUT IF MINE COULD STAND IN THE CORNER, MELVIN'S COULD WALK TO THE CORNER. ANYONE FOR THAT? MAYBE WE COULD WEAR THEM TO THE GAME. I HEARD BARBARA G. IS MAKING POM-POM'S FOR THE GIRLS. IT'S ALREADY GETTING FUN. HENRY, AS WAYNE SAID, JIM RICH IS STILL IN CORCORAN IN THE INSURANCE BUSINESS, BUT THERE IS NO M-R AGENCY IN THE PHONE BOOK. I TOO REMEMBER "THAT" DAY. GOD'S BLESSINGS TO ALL, LOVE BRAD

Mar 20, 2005 at 09:01:00 Ellie (Fl.)
How easy it is to get my attention. Brad, are those the ones with the button fly? Acme and Justin boots and Stetson hats and girls, the sock hops, circle skirts and angora sweaters, thick socks, saddle shoes, cinch belts, crenolines. Was that our time or am I confused with Happy Days. Pom-Poms oh Yes! I guess we should dress the part. You know if we dressed the part, the school could have us as an assembly, or at least half-time. Looking forward to a great celebration!

Mar 20, 2005 at 09:22:04 JimG (Tulare)
Henry,::::Yes, Jim Rich sold the insurance company and is still working for that company. We do the printing for them before. The company is now called Pacific Ag Insurance. I see Jim every now and then at sporting events, etc.::::JimG::

Henry, corrected version::::Yes, Jim Rich sold the insurance company and is still working for that company. We have done the printing for them before. The company is now called Pacific Ag Insurance. I see Jim every now and then at sporting events, etc.::::JimG::

HELLO CLASSMATES, YES ELLIE, THOSE ARE THE ONES. AND, THAT WAS THE 50'S. THAT'S WHY "HAPPY DAYS" WAS SO POPULAR. SO MANY OF US RELATED TO IT. I AM TRYING TO FIND A CO THAT WILL MAKE US CLASS SWEATERS OR WIND BREAKERS WITH BLUE AND GOLD. MAYBE A "CLASS OF '56 REUNION" ON THE BACK AND THE CORCORAN PANTHER LETTER ON THE FRONT. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS FROM ANYONE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. YES, THE EXCITEMENT IS BEGINNING TO FLOW. LOVE BRAD

Mar 20, 2005 at 20:55:55 Dave (Baton Rouge)
Ellie, I have a juke box from the '50 that is my last major toy. I purchased it because it looked like a '57 Chevy. It is full of 45 RPM records. I wear clean 501 Levi's. After looking for a week, I finally broke down and ask Rosemary if she knew where the pictures for the train boards where. She gave her lecture about me unable to find anything. She then picked-up a binder full of the pictures. Anyway, I have revised the page on the trains. I started thinking about The 100MB for the site. My file at home had only 40MB, so I started looking by asking my server why did I have an extra 60MB. He said it was in my email account. I told him I didn't have a email account. He said I did and it had 17,121 emails in it. They were all spam to an address I didn't know existed. I tried to delete them, but after two hours I was down to about 15,000. Gave up and requested them to dump the whole thing. What a mess. 17,000 !!! You know how much Viagra is in 17,000 email! Now I'm down to 45MB. Any Californians checked on Derek or Ann lately?

Hi Guys, It may not mean anything to you, but I found my class jacket several years ago, It is a little small for me now, but it was still in good condition. Still had it's old colors and emblem on it. I had my letter sweater also, but the DL washed it, and it ended up is a ball of junk. I haven't seen it in a while. I'll look for it when we get back from Europe.

Mar 21, 2005 at 11:16:38 BarbaraG (Ventura)
Brad, the "pompoms" I mentioned to Jacque were pompom corsages (the big yellow chrysthamums [flowers] with the blue "C" on them). Maybe we were freshmen or sophomores when we wore them, but I do remember having them for football games. I guess I could figure out the regular "paper" pompoms, but I think you can purchase them ready-made. I'm looking forward to our next reunion.::::If any of you remember my brother Richard (who now lives just outside of Sydney), please say a prayer or two for him. He was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Doesn't sound as though he's feeling too well. Hope to make it over to visit him in the near future.::::Better get back to work. Talk to you later.::::

Dave, I'm here... Just lurking in the background... Love to all...::

Mar 21, 2005 at 22:17:25 BRAD (VISALIA)
HELLO CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS, BARBARA, I DO REMEMBER RICHARD. I'M SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT HIS AILMENT. I'M PRAYING THAT THE LORD WILL SEND SOMEONE TO COMFORT AND CHEER HIM AND GIVE HIM PEACE. HOWEVER YOU DO THE POMPOMS WILL BE FINE. THEY WILL HELP TO IDENTIFY US AT THE GAME. DEREK, IT'S SO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU. EVEN IF ONLY ONE SENTENCE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. LOVE BRAD

Mar 23, 2005 at 08:33:39 JimG (Tulare)
Hi yall,::::I thought that cords were the thing with pincil writing all over them. Maybe that was before the 501s in our freshman and sophmore years.::::JimG::::

Mar 23, 2005 at 10:56:04 Henry S (Nokesville,Va)
Jim: I think the Levi Co. has done us in- the regular fits now are 505 s and unfortunately, the 501s are the "relaxed" fits for those of us who now need them. Pity!! The cords went to the "pegged" type even up in Chico so the culture on the West coast was pretty even.Wayne- I missed reading about the time of the accident you mentioned in your last note- yes I still remember it and hope that others don't have the same experience. ::Barbara- I'm sorry to hear that your brother (I remember Richard as a little guy) has his problem. I do wish him well and better health.::Seems like I'm getting comments to all. Enough- STAY DRY ALL. ::::HS

Mar 25, 2005 at 03:39:53 Patty (Chanute, Ks.)
HI all,::Well I'm off on a journey tomorrow. I have a close friend who lost a family member this month and the family wanted her to have one of their vehicles so she went to Florida last week to pick it up & visit awhile. So that she would not have to drive back to Kansas alone she wanted me to fly to Orlando, Florida & come back with her. I leave at 7am tomorrow and she'll pick me up at the Airport in Orlando. Since neither one of us know North from South I'm sure it will be a long journey back, that is if we even find Kansas again. Ellie, I look up on MapQuest your location and it looked like you are farther down in Florida than the direction we are suppose to head towards. Was hoping you'd be close to Orlando and we could have stopped by to see you. Although, who knows, since we really don't know what we're really doing we might end up going the wrong way and I'd still get to see you. I told Darold, he might want to take out more Life Insurance on me, just in case it takes us a few YEARS to get back!! Tee-Hee!! HOPE, to be able to write back again SOON. Patty

Mar 25, 2005 at 06:19:09 Ellie (Fla.)
Dear Patty, my door is open. I'm only 2 hrs. from Orlando on the gulf side. No one would mind if you had a slight delay. The guest room is available, comes with meals and a hot shower, pool is open. Anytime. 239-656-1793.

Mar 25, 2005 at 07:12:02 Dave (Baton Rouge)
O-Hum Didda La! Patty, don't forget your sunglasses. Florida isn't Kansas and its already summer there. I looked at a map and wondered why the never built an interstate from Kansas to Florida. To the embarrassment to those that haven't submitted a "Bio", I received Henry Spencer's and have placed it on the site. With all the talk about pom-pom, T-shirts and/or sweaters. I have some thoughts: 1) I'm not going to carry any pom-poms. 2) I'm not wearing a green sweater to a blue and gold football game. 3) I might wear a T-shirt under a jacket. Why not make it simple; wear a badge that says "Class of 56" or Hi My Names Blankiddy-Blank. Lets face it, if someone couldn't pick us out of a crowd, they need a new seeing-eye dog. We are all in the same boat. All-You-All know that this group hasn't agreed with anything since 1944. Keep those comments flowing.

Mar 25, 2005 at 07:37:35 BRAD (VISALIA)
GOOD MORNING CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS, IT'S FRIDAY, "GOOD FRIDAY" THE DAY OUR LORD WAS CRUCIFIED. IT STARTED LAST SUNDAY. PALM SUNDAY. THE TRIUMPHANT ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM. GOD'S PLAN FOR REDEMPTION BEING UNFOLDED. AND THEN THE CRUCIFICTION (JUST AS MEL GIBSON PORTRAYED IT). THEN COMES EASTER, THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY IN HISTORY, THE DAY JESUS ROSE FROM THE GRAVE AND FULFILLED ALL THE PROPHECY CONCERNING THE MESSIAH. IT IS SO AWESOME. THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE CARES SO MUCH FOR US. (JOHN 3:16) TODAY AROUND 1:00 PM, I WILL GATHER ALL OUR EMPLOYEES AND SPEND A FEW MINUTES RELATING THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS SEASON. I HOPE ALL OF YOU WILL JOIN AS WE PONDER IN OUR HEARTS AND THANK GOD FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR US. THANK YOU LORD! LOVE BRAD

Mar 25, 2005 at 07:51:23 BRAD (VISALIA)
HELLO AGAIN, PATTY, YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK INTO A GPS MAPPING SYSTEM. THEY ARE PORTABLE AND INEXPENSIVE. YOU MIGHT LOOK AT"www.megagps.com" FOR SOME IDEAS. YOU MAY HAVE A STORE IN YOUR AREA. OR, HAVE I JUST BEEN ZAPPED BY THE "DUMB BLOND" TRICK? ANYWAY, I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT TRIP. BRAD

Mar 26, 2005 at 10:32:02 Ellie (Fla.)
David, Am I sensing signs of "OLD CODGER SYNDROME"? Bah Humbug and all that. Well then, Brad, I guess it's best to take it to the members. Anyone who is interested in the project of LETTERMEN SWEATERS AND OR JACKETS, make your mark on this site. We'll proceed from there.::Dear David, It's 85 here today, Solar blanket is coming off the pool, shutting off heater, 88 degrees. Tomorrow everyone in, Easter has arrived. Big dinner, friends and family. God bless every one.

Mar 26, 2005 at 11:41:42 "OLD CODGER" (Baton Rouge)
I like big Easter Dinners, but I wondered why bunny is never served? Baked Bunny on a Platter surrounded by Deviled Eggs would make a perfect Easter dinner.

Mar 26, 2005 at 17:22:02 Ellie (Fla/)
David, what do YOU have against the bunny? I'm serving fresh ham as in Pig. Sound kosher enough? With that there will be sweet potatoes, Mashed garlic spuds, a roasted chicken stuffed, a noodle kugel, veg, Someone is making french onion ala greyere croustade. Homemade apple pie, gravy jello mold and oh yes, DEVILED EGGS. Ya'll come now,ya hear!!!!

Mar 27, 2005 at 00:02:38 WC (pdesert)
David, I could supply you with lots of Bunnies that come and eat whatever I plant in the backyard. I feel like Farmer Magreggor chasing Peter Cottontail !!! I cheer for the roadrunners when they catch one. Ellie, I gained 3 lbs reading your menu. That would make a fine menu for our next class party. I would substitute your legendary brownies for the jello mold. I was really impressed reading Henry Spencer's bio. Would he have done as well staying at CUHS? I do intend to write a bio but I haven't finished my class in fiction writing yet. May you all be with good friends and family for Easter. luv2all wc<
