Betty and
Sid Grant
Sid and I completed our High School years together in Corcoran. We
were married July 14, l956, one month after we graduated from High
School. We lived for 2 years in Corcoran. Sid worked for Corcoran
Refrigeration. In 1958 Sid went to work for Visalia Refrigeration and
we moved to Visalia. Sid worked for Visalia Refrigeration about 25
years. he then went into business for himself, Visalia Air. He retired
about 10 years ago. Grants I worked for Southern Calif. Gas co. for about 25 years. I retired
about 10 years ago and went into real estate. I am with Century 21,
Jordan Link in Visalia. Our oldest son, Michael, was born in 1957. Our daughter, Lori, was
born in 1960 and our youngest son, Wally, was born in 1962.
We have lived in the same house in Visalia
for 32 years. I guess we really do not like change.
Michael lives in Folsom, he is in Special Education. Last week he was
voted one of the top 50 teachers in the Sacramento School District. Lori
lives in Kingsburg, they are farmers and she is a 5th and 6th grade
counselor. Wally lives in Clovis and he is in Marketing. We have 7 wonderful grandchildren. Three boys, a 21 year old, a senior
at Fresno State. Two 18 year olds, one at Menlo College in Atherton and
one in American River College in Sacramento. Four girls, a Jr. at
Kingsburg High and a 7th grader at Folsom Jr High. A 5th grader and 3rd
grader at Riverbank in Clovis. They are involved in football, baseball, golf, basketball and
cheerleading. They are a big part of our lives and they keep us very busy. Sid still goes to Corcoran at least once a seek. His parents still live
there, they are 98 and 96 years old and still living in the same house he
grew up in. They are in good health, they play dominos everyday. Things never seem to slow down, I guess that is a good thing. We are
busy with our families, Sid plays lots of golf and we take lots of trips.
We are blessed. If you are in our area, give us a call, we would love to see you. We are looking forward to seeing all of you in 2004. Still remembering
the great time in Reno. Sid & Betty (Archibald) Grant |
